Launch at Chestnut Mountain near Galena, Illinois

Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the majestic Mississippi River bluffs, wildlife and an enchanting summer sunset on your private boat tour of this great river.  50 person maximum; reservations required. $40 each includes light meal and lift ticket.

Reinventing the Human-Earth Story

Boy Scouts of America’s Canyon Camp, 4856 E. Townsend Road, Stockton

Clayton Russell, Associate Professor of Environmental Education and Outdoor Education at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, will tell a new story of the human-earth relationship, a story that reveals a life more fully engaged with and attentive to the more than human landscape.  Co-sponsored by Friends of Canyon Camp and the Natural Land Institute.

Natural Land Institute – Goldenrod Gala

To celebrate 50 years of conserving land in northern Illinois.  Reservations can be made by calling the Natural Land Institute at 815/964-6666. Everyone welcome.  $75 / Table of 10 $750.

Collect and clean seeds, enjoy guided tours and wagon rides throughout the day.  Everyone welcome.

Kinnikinnick Creek Planting Festival

Help recreate a Bur Oak Grove.  For schools, scouts and anyone who wants to help restoration along beautiful Kinnikinnick Creek.
